Side by Side Photos

Upon first glance, the images in art director Stephen McMennamy’s combophoto project may look like surreal photo-manipulations created using Photoshop. They’re actually the result of a much simpler process. For each one, McMennamy carefully shoots two photographs and creatively arranges them side-by-side to create imaginative new scenes.

High Speed Liquid

German photographer Heinz Maier says that he began taking photographs in late 2010. He claims to not know what direction he’s heading in just yet, right now he’s experimenting with macro photography, mostly insects, animals, and these delicate high speed water droplets. Personally it’s hard to believe these aren’t made digitally.

Alexa Meade Art

Alexa Meade’s perspective-bending artwork makes the 3D world look like a 2D painting. In her latest project collaboration, Alexa Meade’s art is the medium for the visual storytelling of Color of Reality, a short film written, directed, and choreographed by Jon Boogz. I saw Alexa Meade hosting an exhibit at this years Photo Expo and she was working on one of her several works of art. I found it to be incredible how she incorporated painting, photography, and film into her job field which is something that not many can accomplish. Her work is alive in several different ways.
